Introduction: n - ethyl pyrrolidone (NEP) is a colorless transparent liquid, boiling 82-83 DEG C (101.3Kpa), relative density 0.994g/cm3, refraction rate 1.4665 (22 degrees C). Is a strong polar organic solvent. Has high chemical stability, weak alkaline, superior solubility, low vapor pressure and low dielectric constant. Does not form hydrogen bonds, which belongs to the polar aprotic solvents, can replace the other poor stability, steam pressure with high toxicity to human skin of solvent penetration, known as nontoxic super solvent.
Use: used as high efficiency selective solvent, catalyst and cationic surface active agent, also as the basic raw material of the production of pharmaceutical intermediates. Can be used to refine oil and produce powder, medicine, dyestuff, pesticide, cosmetic, coating and heat resistant resin, etc..
