More About 7x19 Vinyl Coated Stainless Steel Cable (T304)
While also called stainless steel aircraft cable, these 7 x 19 stainless steel cables are not intended for use on aircraft. A construction of 7 strands and 19 wires per strand in stainless steel, resulting in a cable that offers flexible plus superior resistance to corrosion. A vinyl coating adds an extra layer to protect the wire from dirt, grit, moisture and other abrasions. The coating also helps to seal in lubrication, reducing wear on pulleys and sheaves. A vinyl coated cable is also easier to handle.
