Message: | ConA binds specifically α-D-mannosyl and α-D-glucosyl residues in terminal position of ramified structures from B-Glycans. It has 4 binding sites, corresponding to the 4 sub-units. The molecular weight is 104-112KDa and the isoelectric point (pI) is in the range of 4.5-5.5. The binding sugar requires the presence of C-3, C-4 and C-5 hydroxyl groups for reaction with Con A. Con A coupled to agarose is routinely used for separation and purification of glycoproteins, polysaccharides and glycolipids. http://www.creativebiomart.net/description_397647_312.htm |
