How to prepare 2-Bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone Cas 49851-31-2?
At room temperature, add 16.2g (0.1mol) of pentanone and 30.9g (0.3mol) of sodium bromide to a 500mL round bottom flask. After stirring well, add 24 g (0.2 mol) of 30% hydrochloric acid and add slowly dropwise. Add 19g (0.15mol) 30% hydrogen peroxide. Continue the reaction for 1~2h after dropping. After monitoring the reaction by TLC, stop stirring, leave to stratify, wash with saturated sodium carbonate and saturated salt water, and combine the organic phases. Concentrate and dry with anhydrous magnesium sulfate to obtain 2-bromo-1-phenyl-1-pentanone as bright yellow oily liquid with 95% yield and 98% purity (HPLC method).
