Message: | Reinforced or Non-Reinforced Elastomeric Bearing Pad
Elastomeric bearing, also called elastomeric bearing pad, is one type of bridge bearings. According to the structure of elastomeric bearing, it can be divided into reinforced elastomeric bearing and non-reinforced elastomeric bearing. And the reinforced elastomeric also can be divided into laminated bearing pad and PTFE sliding elastomeric bearing.
Non-reinforced elastomeric bearing, also called plain elastomeric bearing, is generally used for small displacement bridges with simple structures.
Reinforced elastomeric bearing includes laminated elastomeric bearing and PTFE sliding elastomeric bearing. These two types of bearings are similar in structure, except that the PTFE sliding elastomeric bearing is added a layer of PTFE. Normally, different shapes of reinforced elastomeric bearings satisfy bridges with different structures. For example, rectangular bearings are ideal for orthogonal bridges, while round bearings are suitable for oblique crossing and cylindrical pier bridges. Round bearings with spherical surfaces are the best choice for curved bridges with 3% to 5% slopes.
