Migraine headaches, dysmenorrhea and joint pain can also be influenced advantageously.
Contra-indications:
Paracetamol is contraindicated in conditions like Hypersensitivity.
Adverse Effects:
Side effects with acetaminophen are rare. The most serious side effect is liver damage due to large doses, chronic use or concomitant use with alcohol or other drugs that also damage the liver. Chronic alcohol use may also increase the risk of stomach bleeding.
Use in Pregnancy and Nursing Mothers:
Acetaminophen in all of its forms is generally considered safe during pregnancy and while breastfeeding as long as it is used exactly as prescribed and for very short durations. Pregnant or nursing mothers who require long-term pain management should speak with their physicians in order to determine the safest course of action during pregnancy and lactation. Like all medications, Panadol should only be used in pregnancy when the benefit of the medication outweighs the risks to the fetus.
Treatment/antidote in The Event of Overdose:
There are tablets available (brand-name in the UK Paradote) that combine paracetamol with an antidote (methionine), to protect the liver in case of an overdose.
Storage instructions:
Store below 25 degrees celsius. Protect from moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
Validity: Three Years
